Popular Solana (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/sol/usd">SOL</a>) based meme coin platform Pump.Fun faced a scare on Thursday after a former employee <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/05/38878472/before-you-trust-another-crypto-guru-read-this-studys-results">exploited a vulnerability</a> to manipulate the platform&#8217;s system.
What Happened: The incident, which saw the perpetrator siphon off roughly $1.9 million worth of SOL tokens, sent shockwaves through the platform&#8217;s user base.
&#8220;We are aware that the bonding curve contracts have been compromised and are investigating the matter,&#8221; Pump.Fun <a href="https://x.com/pumpdotfun/status/1791235050643636303">announced</a> on Twitter amid the chaos. Trading was promptly halted, leaving users in the dark about the situation unfolding.
Exploit Explained
Fortunately, Pump.Fun released a detailed post-mortem explaining the exploit. In a nutshell, a former employee with privileged access leveraged &#8220;flash loans&#8221; from a Solana lending protocol. 
These loans, essentially short-term borrowings, allowed the individual to:
<ol>
<li>Borrow SOL tokens.</li>
<li>Use the borrowed SOL to buy massive quantities of specific meme coins on Pump.Fun, driving their prices to 100% on the platform&#8217;s bonding curve system.</li>
<li>Gain access to the liquidity pool associated with those coins upon reaching 100%.</li>
<li>Repay the flash loans, essentially leaving Pump.Fun out of pocket for the stolen SOL.</li>

Swift Action And Reassurance
Thankfully, the exploit only affected roughly $1.9 million out of the platform&#8217;s total $45 million liquidity pool. Pump.Fun reacted swiftly, redeploying the contracts and resuming trading with 0% fees for the next week.
The platform also pledged to make users whole for the affected coins. Here&#8217;s how:

<li>Coins reaching 100% during the exploit window will be listed on Raydium, a decentralized exchange, with at least the same amount of liquidity they had before the incident.</li>
<li>The platform will waive trading fees for the next seven days.</li>

Selkoe stressed the importance of signing popular Fortnite player Clicks, describing him as a &#8220;force of nature&#8221; who aligns perfectly with XSET&#8217;s vision. 
"Clicks is 19 years old, a super smart guy, and his clothing line is Dreamin, which is North of a million bucks a year. We&#8217;re helping him with that," Selkoe said. Clicks is a player and a co-owner, deeply involved in shaping the team and the company's direction.

The Queens Collective has been reimagined under XSET, with recruits and content series in the pipeline.

XSET is set to participate in a $6.5 million Fortnite tournament in Saudi Arabia, fielding a team handpicked by Clicks. 
&#8220;Clicks is the face and the coach, and he&#8217;s very excited about it. He&#8217;ll be there, not competing, but supporting the team,&#8221; Selkoe shared. 
Beyond tournaments, XSET has several exciting projects lined up. He hinted at launching a new clothing line featuring Clicks, with a promotional video directed by Show Me the God, known for his work with artists like Beyoncé and The Weeknd.
Additionally, Selkoe mentioned that XSET is looking into developing new Fortnite maps in collaboration with Death Row Gaming and T Grizzly and plans a significant event in June with DJ Kaskade, blending gaming with fashion. 
<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Building a Creator Economy</h1>
Selkoe expressed his belief in the power of the creator economy, highlighting XSET's strategy of giving influencers ownership stakes in the company.

What Happened: Spot On Chain <a href="https://x.com/spotonchain/status/1791285621669155238">noted</a> a whale making a substantial profit after they initially purchased 199 billion SHIB, with an estimated cost of $1.68 million, between October 10, 2021, and September 11, 2023, from Coinbase and a decentralized exchange.
The whale then deposited all the SHIB, now worth $4.88 million, back to Coinbase, realizing an estimated profit of $3.2 million, a whopping 191% increase.
Interestingly, the whale had previously lost $176,000 in a quick trade in 2021, suggesting that this recent success may have been a result of learning the "lesson of patience."

Cedar, a joint venture between Haisla First Nation and Pembina, is expected to be completed in 2028 and produce 3.3 million tons of LNG annually.&nbsp;Post&nbsp;completion,&nbsp;Cedar will be one of Canada&#8217;s first LNG export terminals.
Senior Vice President and Corporate Development Officer Stuart Taylor said, &#8220;We&nbsp;do&nbsp;have all key regulatory permits. Cedar financing has been launched and is on target for that FID timing&#8230;We have very&nbsp;well defined&nbsp;plans that have been completed and the successful execution of cedar LNG is well on its way,&#8221; reported Reuters.
Apart from this, Pembina&#8217;s core business positions it to benefit from multi-year volume growth expected through the balance of the decade led by transformational developments.
This includes&nbsp;completion of&nbsp;the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion, new West Coast LNG and NGL export capacity, and new petrochemical facilities creating significant demand for ethane and propane.
Outlook: The company expects 4% to 6% compound annual growth of fee-based adjusted EBITDA per share and C$2.2 billion to C$4.0 billion of capital expenditures and contributions&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">to&nbsp;equity-accounted investees through 2026</a>.
