Sen. Bernie Sanders was very straightforward in a recent <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVlum0tUsTs">interview</a>, where he took a hard look at the Democratic Party and its <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/11/42116975/bernie-sanders-says-its-very-easy-to-lose-touch-with-ordinary-peoples-struggles-defends-owning-3-houses-and-a-2-million-net-worth">relationship with the working class</a>. Sanders has long been a vocal advocate for everyday Americans and this time, he went straight to the point: the Democratic Party has, in his words, "abandoned the working class," and they're paying the price for it.

In the aftermath of Harris&#8217; recent campaign loss, Sanders pointed out what he sees as a major issue: people are struggling more than ever while the wealthy are thriving. "The <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/11/41793530/bernie-sanders-says-american-people-are-angry-and-want-change-and-theyre-right-democrats-have-abando">working people of this country are extremely angry</a>," Sanders said. "They have a right to be angry. In the richest country in the history of the world, today the people on top are doing phenomenally well while 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck."
Sanders was direct about income inequality. He stressed that the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/10/41193824/are-you-rich-enough-to-be-in-the-top-1-heres-both-the-income-and-net-worth-you-need-to-rank-amon">top 1% owns more wealth than the bottom 90%</a> and that the U.S. has the highest rate of childhood poverty among major countries. Additionally, one in four seniors is trying to get by on $15,000 a year or less. "Where is the Democratic Party?" Sanders asked, suggesting they're not doing enough to tackle these issues.

A major point of criticism Sanders had for the Democrats was their failure to raise the minimum wage to what he calls a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/08/40352204/do-you-know-what-salary-it-takes-to-live-comfortably-heres-a-hint-its-much-higher-than-the-avera">living wage</a>. He explained that even though millions of people in the country work hard, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/07/39817447/warren-buffett-says-anyone-who-works-40-hours-a-week-should-live-a-decent-life-heres-what-he-pro">they're not earning enough</a> to make ends meet. "In the Senate in the last two years, we have not even brought forth legislation to raise the minimum wage to a living wage, although some 20 million people in this country are working for less than $15 an hour," Sanders said.
Sanders also addressed Speaker Nancy Pelosi's recent pushback against his statements. But Sanders stood firm, explaining that while he respects Pelosi, he thinks it's clear that the party has to do more. "Do you think that the Democratic Party is going to the max, taking on powerful special interests and fighting for you?" The overwhelming answer to him is no, which needs to change.

The Vermont senator believes it's time for the Democratic Party to show that they are willing to stand up for ordinary Americans – not just in words, but through action. He pointed out that they haven't made much progress on issues like expanding union rights or strengthening <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/11/42217382/bernie-sanders-demands-scrap-the-cap-on-social-security-taxes-its-absurd-a-billionaire-pays-same-amount-as-middle-class-earners">Social Security</a> benefits for retirees. "People are in pain. People are hurting. They can&#8217;t afford to go to a doctor. They can&#8217;t afford to send their kids to child care or to college."
When asked how much he blames President Biden for the recent loss, Sanders gave a measured response. He acknowledged that Biden, when he came into office, promised to be the most progressive president since FDR. "On domestic issues, not foreign policy, Biden has kept his word and pushed through a strong agenda," Sanders said. But he said that it still isn&#8217;t enough to fix the big problems of unfairness in American society because, even though Biden has done some good things, the rest of the party needs to do more to help working families if they want to regain their trust.

The SEC's order found that two weeks before the public offering, the Food and Drug Administration notified Kiromic BioPharma that it had placed the drug candidates on clinical hold.&nbsp;
Kiromic BioPhamra did not disclose the FDA clinical holds in its SEC filings, investor roadshow calls, or during due diligence calls leading up to the offering, despite the fact that Kiromic disclosed the hypothetical risk of a clinical hold and the potential negative consequences on Kiromic's business.&nbsp;

"These resolutions strike the right balance between holding Kiromic's then-two most senior officers responsible for Kiromic's disclosure failures while also crediting Kiromic for its voluntary self-report, remediation, proactively instituting remedial measures, and providing meaningful cooperation to the staff," said Eric Werner, Director of the SEC's Fort Worth Regional Office.

What Happened: Appearing on a recent episode of the All-In Podcast, Gavin Baker, managing partner and chief investment officer of Atreides Management LP warned that Saylor's Bitcoin bets could get "too big for the size" of MicroStrategy.
Baker called out Saylor's strategy of issuing debt and buying Bitcoin. "What he is doing is he is issuing debt and buying Bitcoin with the premise that it is always going to go up."
However, Baker has a word of caution here. "No trees grow to the sky," he said, adding that the interest expenses will keep rising for the company if Saylor keeps at it.
"The underlying business that pays the interest expense on the debt only does $400 million a year.
"Unless debt investors have absolute confidence… it will get to a point where it is too big for the size of his company," said Baker.
If Saylor over-collateralizes Bitcoin, Baker warned that the "magic money creation machine" will break down.

MicroStrategy's Michael Saylor Risks Breaking Down The 'Magic Money Creation Machine' With His Growing Bitcoin Bet, Says Expert

Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PLTR#NASDAQ">PLTR</a>) co-founder Joe Lonsdale cheered President-elect Donald Trump's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/12/42323248/trump-nominates-paul-atkins-as-sec-chair-emphasizing-digital-assets-as-key-to-making-america-greater">pick to lead</a> the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Paul Atkins, while calling out Gary Gensler's attitude towards the cryptocurrency industry.

Palantir Co-Founder Joe Lonsdale Cheers Trump's New SEC Pick, Calls Out Gary Gensler For 'Purposely' Not Defining Crypto Rules

Boeing Co&#8216;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BA#NYSE">BA</a>) head of government affairs and chief lobbyist Ziad Ojakli is reportedly leaving the planemaker.
What Happened: Ojakli will be replaced by executive Bill McSherrry on an interim basis, Reuters reported on Friday, citing a mail sent by Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg to employees. Ojakli&#8217;s departure is effective immediately, the email said. 
Ojakli became executive vice president of Government Operations at Boeing in October 2021. Prior to that, he worked with Ford and Softbank and also served as an aide to President George W. Bush.
Boeing did not immediately respond to a <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga</a> request for a statement.
Why It Matters: Boeing has been under keen public and regulatory scrutiny since the start of the year when a door plug flew off an Alaska Airlines plane. 
The company&#8217;s shares have fallen by about 39% year-to-date and several key executives have left. 
In November, the company said that its head of quality for commercial airplanes Elizabeth Lund would retire from the company in December. President-elect Donald Trump&#8216;s transition team is reportedly considering canceling the U.S. Postal Service&#8217;s (USPS) contracts aimed at electrifying its delivery fleet.
What Happened: The move could be unveiled in the starting days of Trump&#8217;s new administration, Reuters reported, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter. 
The transition team is reviewing how it can undo the postal service&#8217;s multiple, expensive contracts including with Ford Motor Co (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/F#NYSE">F</a>) and Oshkosh (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/OSK#NYSE">OSK</a>) for battery electric delivery trucks, the report said. Breaking the contracts would be legally challenging, Reuters noted, given the federal agency has its governing board.
Benzinga has reached out to USPS, Ford, and Oshkosh for comment but is yet to receive a response.
