Lowe's quarterly profit climbed to $322 million, or $0.26 per share, from $285 million, or $0.21 per share, in the year-ago period. The latest quarter results included one-time charges of $0.03 per share. Its revenue climbed 11% to $11.6 billion. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.24 per share on sales of $11.3 billion. Lowe's projects 2013 earnings between $1.75 and $1.85 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $1.81 per share.

AES Corp (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/aes#NYSE">AES</a>) posted a narrower fourth-quarter loss. AES also cut its full-year adjusted earnings forecast to $1.22 to $1.30 per share, versus its earlier forecast of $1.27 to $1.37 per share. AES posted a quarterly loss of $209 million, versus a year-ago loss of $436 million. Its earnings from continuing operations dropped to $0.12 per share from $0.16 per share. Excluding special items, AES' adjusted earnings came in at $0.23 per share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.22 per share. AES' revenue climbed 0.9% to $4.27 billion. Its gross margin rose to 25.7% from 24.3%.

Charter Communications Inc (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/chtr#NASDAQ">CHTR</a>) posted a wider-than-expected fourth-quarter loss. Charter Communications posted a quarterly loss of $67 million, or $0.63 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $85 million, or $0.75 per share. Its revenue rose 2.8% to $1.83 billion. However, analysts were expecting a loss of $0.32 per share on revenue of $1.83 billion. Charter Communications' operating costs and expenses climbed 4.1%. Average revenue per residential customer gained 2%.

Armstrong World Industries Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/awi#NYSE">AWI</a>) posted weaker-than-expected fourth-quarter results. Armstrong World Industries projects 2012 adjusted earnings of $2.75 to $3.15 per share on sales of $2.9 billion to $3 billion. However, analysts were projecting earnings of $2.91 per share on revenue of $3 billion. Armstrong World Industries posted a quarterly net income of $8.5 million, or $0.14 per share, versus a year-ago net loss of $21 million, or $0.36 per share. Excluding items, Armstrong World Industries earned $0.16 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $0.29 per share. Its sales climbed 1% to $652.1 million, versus analysts' estimates of $669.8 million.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/vrx#NYSE">VRX</a>) posted a fourth-quarter profit. Valeant Pharmaceuticals posted a quarterly net income at $55.9 million, or $0.18 per share, versus a year-ago net loss of $31.1 million, or $0.10 per share. Its revenue climbed 34% to $688.5 million. Its adjusted cash income came in at $297.7 million, or $0.94 per share. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.85 per share.

Cooper Tire &amp; Rubber Co (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/ctb#NYSE">CTB</a>) posted a rise in its fourth-quarter profit. Cooper Tire &amp; Rubber posted its quarterly net income from continuing operations of $209 million, or $3.33 per share, up from $40.2 million, or $0.64 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, the company earned $0.51 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $0.39 per share. Cooper Tire &amp; Rubber's sales surged 14% to $1.05 billion, versus analysts' estimates of $1.02 billion.

Quicksilver Resources Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/kwk#NYSE">KWK</a>) posted a weaker-than-expected adjusted fourth-quarter profit. Quicksilver Resources' quarterly net profit dropped to $49 million, or $0.28 per share, from $332 million, or $1.82 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue declined 10% to $216 million. Excluding items, Quicksilver Resources broke even. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.01 per share on revenue of $217.1 million.

Gran Tierra Energy Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/gte#NYSE">GTE</a>) posted a surge in its quarterly profit. Gran Tierra Energy's October-December profit surged to $32.5 million, or $0.11 per share, from $13.1 million, or $0.04 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue and other income surged 44% to $161.8 million.

Pearson PLC (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/pso#NYSE">PSO</a>) posted a drop in its net profit in 2011. Pearson's attributable net profit for 2011 declined to 957 million pounds ($1.52 billion), versus a profit of 1.3 billion pounds in 2010. Its sales climbed 3.5% to 5.86 billion pounds from 5.66 billion pounds. 

HSBC Holdings PLC (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/hbc#NYSE">HBC</a>) reported a 28% rise in its 2011 profit. HSBC's 2011 profit surged to $16.79 billion, or $0.92 per share, from $13.16 billion, or $0.73 per share in 2010. Its net interest income surged to $40.66 billion from $39.44 billion. However, analysts were expecting a net profit of $16.79 billion and net interest income of $40.32 billion. HSBC's loan impairment charges and other credit risk provisions came in at $12.13 billion in 2011. 

Hang Seng Bank Ltd (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/hsngy#OTC">HSNGY</a>) posted a 12% rise in its net profit in 2011. Hang Seng Bank's net profit for the period climbed to HK$16.68 billion, from HK$14.92 billion in 2010. However, analysts were expecting a net profit of HK$16.13 billion. Excluding one-time items, Suntech reported a loss of $0.19 per ADS. Suntech's quarterly revenue surged 33% to $830.7 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.15 per share on revenue of $800 million. Suntech lowered its revenue forecast for the year to $3.2 billion to $3.4 billion, versus its earlier forecast of $3.3 billion to $3.5 billion. 

Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/gelyy#OTC">GELYY</a>) reported a 17% rise in its first-half net profit. Geely's net profit for the period rose to CNY937.6 million, from CNY804.8 million, in the year-earlier period. Its revenue climbed 14% to CNY10.54 billion from CNY9.24 billion.

Treasury Wine Estates Ltd (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/tsryy#OTC">TSRYY</a>) reported a 6.6% drop in its volume of wine sales for the full year. Treasury Wine Estates' net profit for the period came in at A$64.1 million. Its revenue from ordinary activities rose 2% to A$1.47 billion, from A$1.45 billion, in the year-ago period. However, its revenue on a pro-forma basis dropped 7.3% at A$1.8 billion, from A$1.94 billion, in the year-ago period. Treasury Wine Estates also announced its plans to pay a final dividend of 6 cents per share.

China Resources Power Holdings Co (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/crpjy#OTC">CRPJY</a>) reported a 1% rise in its first-half net profit. The group's net profit for the period rose to HK$2.48 billion (US$319 million), from HK$2.46 billion, in the year-ago period. Its revenue climbed 37% to HK$29.03 billion from HK$21.16 billion. The group also recommended a first-half dividend of HK$0.06.

Petrofac Ltd (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/pofcy#OTC">POFCY</a>) reported a 31% rise in its first-half net profit. Petrofac's net profit for the period rose to $246.5 million. Over the past 3 years, IIPR has <a href="https://www.gurufocus.com/term/dividend_growth_3y/IIPR/3-Year-Dividend-Growth-Rate-Per-Share/Innovative-Industrial-Properties">increased its dividend at a 17.3% annual rate</a>, better than 84% of industry peers. Its 5-year yield-on-cost stands at a remarkable 41.5%, superior to almost 99% of REITs.



With a high-quality tenant base delivering reliable rental income, IIPR has the potential to continue increasing its dividend at an above-average pace. This is why I believe IIPR has the legs to deliver outsized 200%+ gains over the next four years. <h2>Volkswagen (VWAGY)</h2>

The stock has plunged 57% from its 2021 peak but has climbed 18% year-to-date in 2024. I expect this rebound to continue as auto sales volumes pick up globally.



A major overhang on VWAGY is its massive debt load of $257 billion. However, the company can still generate profits thanks to its hefty margins and substantial $56.2 billion cash buffer. Once interest rates decline in Europe, Volkswagen&rsquo;s interest expenses should fall dramatically from the <a href="https://finbox.com/WBAG:VOW/explorer/interest_exp/">$3.6 billion paid in 2023</a>. This influx of billions can re-ignite substantial growth.



Rate cuts are a question of when not if. Once they materialize, we could see a major re-rating of VWAGY as profits explode higher. Regardless, the current valuation is far too attractive to ignore. With a forward P/E of just 4.5x, shares are trading near trough levels and appear to be bottoming out.



I believe accumulating VWAGY around current levels will pay off in a big way. This is an iconic auto brand with staying power, and the market is underestimating its ability to adapt and thrive in the years ahead. The hefty 6.2% dividend yield provides income while you wait for the market to realize how underpriced VWAGY is today. It is one of the best dividend stocks you can buy in the automotive sector.



<h2>Dollar General (DG)</h2>

However, I believe the bulk of the gains are still ahead. DG continues trading at a substantial discount to its intrinsic value, in my view. We&rsquo;ve seen such low valuations about five years back, and snapping up shares for a multi-year position will likely turn out to be a very lucrative decision.



Big-name retail brands with enduring appeal rarely disappoint when bought near historically low valuations. I believe acquiring DG below $150 per share is an incredible bargain that will pay off handsomely over time. Reaching $400-450 or more by 2028 is not unrealistic, in my view.



At today&rsquo;s prices, Dollar General is priced based on historical CPI growth rates, yet with margins below its long-term average. Its terminal growth is also below historical same-store sales growth. It&rsquo;s hard to ignore a stock trading at such a discount to its earnings power.



For investors seeking a &ldquo;surefire&rdquo; triple-digit return over the next four years, DG checks all the boxes in my view. The dividend isn&rsquo;t as high or reliable as some stocks, but capital appreciation potential more than makes up for it. I remain exceedingly bullish on dividend stocks like DG and believe long-term investors will be rewarded handsomely.



<h2>&amp;M European Value Retail (BMRRY)</h2>

The company has certainly been on a rollercoaster ride over the past four years. However, for investors with a long-term horizon, I believe BMRRY offers enticing upside potential.



The discount retail industry is poised for rapid growth amidst the challenging macroeconomic climate. BMRRY itself has demonstrated impressive growth, with revenue expanding at a 10.9% CAGR over the past 5 years. EBITDA growth has been even more remarkable, at a 15.5% CAGR over this period. Analysts expect <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/BMRRY/earnings/estimates">high single-digit top-line growth to continue through 2028</a>.



Equally impressive is BMRRY&rsquo;s industry-leading profitability. Its <a href="https://www.gurufocus.com/term/netmargin/BMRRY/Net-Margin-/BM-European-Value-Retail">7% net profit margin</a> handily beats 87% of retail peers. The company&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.gurufocus.com/term/dividend_growth_3y/BMRRY/3-Year-Dividend-Growth-Rate-Per-Share/BM-European-Value-Retail">3-year dividend growth rate</a> of nearly 30% also crushes 91% of competitors. It&rsquo;s one of those dividend stocks to consider.



Shares may not appear screamingly cheap today, but I see a 40-70% upside over the next four years as earnings expand. With strong execution, 200% gains are not out of the question in my view.



<h2>JD.Com (JD)</h2>

However, the brutal decline has slowed, and shares have traded sideways for months now. Signs are emerging that China is softening its regulatory crackdown and loosening monetary policy. This could provide a catalyst for JD to deliver multibagger returns on its way up as the Chinese economy recovers.



China&rsquo;s e-commerce market remains massive with an <a href="https://www.statista.com/outlook/emo/ecommerce/china#:~:text=Revenue%20in%20the%20eCommerce%20Market,US%242%2C010.00bn%20by%202029.">expected 10% CAGR from 2024-2029</a>. Gurufocus sees JD&rsquo;s fair value at $67 by the end of 2026, which seems reasonable to me if China continues opening up its economy. While JD may fall short of such explosive gains, I don&rsquo;t anticipate much further downside from current levels either. The stock already trades at basement valuations, providing a margin of safety.



Investors can collect a 3% dividend yield while awaiting China&rsquo;s reopening and any upside that brings for JD. With patience, I believe current prices will prove to be an excellent long-term entry point. This makes it one of those dividend stocks to buy.



<h2>Globe Life (GL)</h2>

It offers life insurance, annuities, and supplemental health products. The insurance sector tends to be recession-proof and safe for long-term investors. GL proved a steady winner for years until plunging from $128 to $56 in under two months.



The drastic selloff stemmed from <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/globe-life-timeline-explainer-federal-stock-price-fraud-investigation-2024-4">federal probes and short seller reports</a> alleging mostly cultural issues. While troubling, the allegations were almost entirely non-financial. With the drama now exposed, I expect GL to address any legitimate cultural concerns. Either way, the stock looks like a bargain trading at 5.5x earnings with no imminent financial threats that I can see.



GL has a solid history of buybacks and a 1.6% dividend yield. For investors with a multi-year horizon, I believe accumulating shares around current levels will pay off nicely as the business fundamentals reassert themselves.



<h2>Ampol (CTXAY)</h2>
