American Crane & Equipment Corporation's CEO, Karen Norheim, Emcees the 2023 What's So Cool About Manufacturing Awards Day

The evening of events, led by Karen Norheim, is the culmination of five months of hard work, where Berks and Schuylkill County middle school students visited PA manufacturing locations to create videos answering the question: "What's So Cool About Manufacturing?"

The event will take place on Tuesday, March 21st, at the Doubletree by Hilton in Reading, Pennsylvania.

What's So Cool About Manufacturing® is an annual competition, created by the Manufacturing Resource Center (MRC) in Allentown, PA in 2013. The event draws entries from teams of students, across Pennsylvania. Separated regionally, each contest entry pool is made up of a cluster of counties. The students are provided camera equipment, software, and professional guidance as they learn to script, record, and edit their video stories (supported by regional sponsors and partners).

This year, American Crane and Equipment Corp. is honored to be a regional sponsor. As a gold sponsor for our local competition, we are able to provide the high-tech media equipment needed for the students to conduct their video stories, as well as professional training and supervision, trophies, and more.

In 2022 we hosted Oley Valley Middle school students, and they won the award for the Best Career Pathway Video that they created about us at American Crane and Equipment Corp. This year, we do not have a school assigned to us, but the foundation has reached out to our CEO, Karen Norheim, with the gracious invitation to be one of their Emcees for the night's ceremony.

ACECO has a long history of supporting local students in the WSCM program and in STEM career pathway education and looks forward to expanding the younger generation's interest in manufacturing.
