Gilbane Building Company Selected to Build New Elementary School in Groton

GROTON, Mass., Dec. 9, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Gilbane Building Company has been selected to serve as construction manager for the new, 110,000-SF Florence Roche Elementary School in Groton, Massachusetts.

Designed by Studio G, with Leftfield serving as owner's project manager, the facility will feature a variety of energy-conserving elements, including all electric MEPs, to bring the school close to Net Zero energy consumption.

The new Florence Roche Elementary School will accommodate 645 students in grades kindergarten through grade four and offer a solution to address growing concerns regarding the state of the existing facility, originally constructed in the 1950s and beyond a state of repair.

The new facility will be organized into grade-level learning neighborhoods and feature shared learning spaces such as a media center, an outdoor learning lab (OLL), a STEM lab with outdoor patio for student projects, and music and art classrooms.
