The Kansas Insurance Department has announced the launch of its newly redesigned website, insurance.kansas.gov. The new site simplifies how users consume information by streamlining navigation and incorporating responsive design technologies for all web browsing devices.

As one of the final steps in merging the Kansas Securities Commission with the Kansas Insurance Department, the new website is more efficiently organized to serve the needs of both constituencies.

"The Kansas Insurance Department's mission is to educate, advocate and regulate," said Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt. "The new website will support us in that mission and help consumers, companies and agents more easily access and interact with the department."

Along with functional improvements, the site incorporates new branding elements that symbolically unite the two agencies. The shield symbolizes protection—a key element of both divisions—while the color blue recalls Kansas as the birthplace of "blue sky laws," and the sunflower represents the citizens of Kansas.

The Kansas Insurance Department website was delivered by the Information Network of Kansas (INK) through a public-private partnership at no cost to taxpayers.
