GRIGGSVILLE, Ill., Feb. 17, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Illinois farmer Philip E. Bradshaw has published his exciting new memoir in which he reflects on his lifetime of farming and his experiences as an advocate and trailblazer for the agriculture industry.

In "Your Food – My Adventure: One Farmer's Journey to Feed the World," Bradshaw shares a collection of stories and events that shaped his life – from his idyllic childhood on a family farm in western Illinois, where he grew up amid cows, chickens, and pigs, through his successful career as an agriculture leader and policymaker, roles that have taken him to more than 53 countries and allowed him to meet seven U.S. presidents.

"The stories and events of one's life are varied and often difficult to express in writing. This is also true of the progression of food production," Bradshaw wrote in the preface of his book. "Agriculture has changed in so many ways, and the food we eat is so varied that it is almost impossible to tell a complete story of how our food is produced. … I hope this book makes you think of all the people working to help feed you and your family every day and that you find the stories and information about agriculture and food production interesting and enlightening."

Ultimately, Bradshaw's book provides a meaningful historical perspective on how food production has progressed and explores where it's headed in the future – all while celebrating the importance of good living, helping others, and making a positive difference in the world. With the global population steadily increasing, "Your Food – My Adventure" also informs readers about the future of agriculture and food production and implores that more research, and as a result innovation, be devoted to these industries to ensure the world's food supply remains abundant, affordable, consistent, safe, and nutritious.

"What can we learn from the life of Phil Bradshaw? This account suggests that regardless of one's starting point, integrity, vision, and a willingness to learn and to engage fearlessly can lead to a life of significant positive impact," Dr. Robert E. Easter, president emeritus of the University of Illinois, wrote in the foreword of Bradshaw's book. "He should be a source of inspiration for all."
