The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin sponsored the Fiesta 2019 event held in downtown Winston-Salem, presented by the non-profit group Hispanic League of the Piedmont Triad. The annual multi-cultural event drew tens of thousands of both Hispanic and non-Hispanic attendees.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (PRWEB) October 17, 2019

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin was an "Especial Sponsor" of the 27th annual Fiesta in downtown Winston-Salem on September 14. The firm had a booth staffed by the firm's Latino Outreach Committee, which aims to promote and strengthen Latinx presence and culture in the community through volunteer work and philanthropy.

Vanessa Beltrán, a Personal Injury attorney at the firm and a delegate of the Committee, said, "The Committee's outreach mission so far has included a wide range of events including free seminars about employees' rights under NC Workers' Compensation law at El Centro Hispano, interpreting at a health clinic event at the Lincoln Community Clinic, job fairs, citizen workshops, power of attorney clinics, and more. The firm has also sponsored cultural and social events such as the Puerto Rican Festival in Concord, Durham's 150th celebration, and of course, Fiesta 2019 Winston-Salem."

With over 20,000 visitors flocking to the street festival, Fiesta 2019 was an opportunity for the Committee to reach out to the wider Hispanic and Latinx community and celebrate the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin's diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Bilingual attorneys and employees of the firm were on site to answer general questions about the firm. Nearly a quarter of the firm's 200 employees are of Hispanic/Latinx origin, and even more are fluent in Spanish, so the Committee works hard to inform, educate, and connect the community to the rich legal resources the firm provides.

"We were able to connect with the Hispanic Community in a setting of joy at Fiesta 2019. We got to celebrate the different cultures, flavors, music, and arts in a way that allows us to see how different, but also how linked and similar we are," says Beltrán.

According to Farrin attorney and fellow delegate of the Latino Outreach Committee, Rosa Antunez, "We want to convey to the Hispanic/Latinx community that we care, we're part of their community, and that when tragedy strikes, they are not alone. They have us to fight for them, and we will try to protect their rights. We understand the unique issues and dynamics that arise with Hispanic and Latino clients, and we are experienced in tackling those issues."

Since the firm opened in 1997, the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin has recovered over $55 million for over 2,000 Spanish-speaking clients across North Carolina.* Beltrán says that she hopes to continue building and improving on the firm's strong track record of producing results for Spanish-speaking clients by giving back to the community through service, and by continuing to reach out to the people who most need the firm's help.

*Each case is unique and must be evaluated on its own merits. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.
