3D Textured Wall Structure Showcased at Design Event in San Francisco

This year at the 7th annual International Interior Design Association (IIDA) San Francisco City Center SCENE LOCAL event, Corian® Design, in collaboration with California-based designer Mario Romano of M.R. Walls and Willis, unveiled an innovative, multidimensional "entry experience" wall facade. Taking place Oct. 16 and17 at The Pearl San Francisco, SCENE LOCAL showcases innovative work created and produced by local design professionals, artists, fabricators and manufacturers in Northern California.

Corian® Design provides the world of architecture and design a medium to express the most innovative concepts and allow creators to produce products and spaces that are one-of-a-kind, yet easy to fabricate and install. Mario Romano's approach to modern architecture builds upon the versatility of Corian®, with his multidimensional surface that can be created on demand and tailored to an array of colors, textures and 3D specifications. At SCENE LOCAL, Corian® Design and M.R. Walls will showcase the latest advancements in parametric computing design and CNC fabrication technology.

"It's an honor to be part of this year's SCENE LOCAL in San Francisco, especially because I have such a strong family connection with this city," said Mario Romano, designer and creator of M.R. Walls. "Featuring psychedelic undulations, this year's surface bestows the versatility of San Francisco's uniqueness, intricacy and texture. It looks masterfully hand carved and beautifully ancient; unlike any surface we've ever created before."

Locally produced and constructed by Creative Wood in Oakland, California, this year's one-of-a-kind M.R. Walls surface was inspired by a single water droplet and then orchestrated generatively.
