DALLAS, April 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Patient Advocacy Community of The Beryl Institute presented Ashley Doyle, RN/Patient Advocate Manager, The University of Vermont Health Network-CVPH, Plattsburgh, NY with the 2019 Ruth Ravich Patient Advocacy Award in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to the field of patient advocacy and to fellow patient advocates. Doyle was honored with the award at The Beryl Institute's annual Patient Experience Conference on April 3 in Dallas, Texas.

Through her passion and time commitment, Ashley is impacting the lives of not only patients and families but also her peers. Ashley invests countless hours with patients and their family to ensure they are being heard and getting the help they need not only within her organization but within the community. Ashley is very active in her organization continuously providing education about compassion and what that means to a patient. She is also engaged with community resources that can assist patients once they return home.

Awarded annually since 1991, the Ruth Ravich Patient Advocacy Award recognizes individuals whose work supports the vision of bringing the patients' needs to the center of healthcare. Ruth Ravich was the founder and first president of the Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy, now the Patient Advocacy Community of The Beryl Institute. As the profession of Patient Advocacy and patient centered care has evolved, the award has come to also recognize individuals within the Patient Advocacy Community who engage in focused efforts to be of support to fellow Advocates in promoting patient rights and patient centered care.
