DETROIT, Jan. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce the election of 12 new member attorneys of the firm, effective January 1, 2019.

Below is Dickinson Wright's new member attorneys for 2019:

Frederick Dewey is a Member in the firm's Detroit office. His practice focuses primarily on the areas of commercial and business litigation, real estate litigation, eminent domain, and probate litigation. From assisting with the resolution of pre-lawsuit disputes to representing clients in complex jury trials, Mr. Dewey has substantial experience at all stages of litigation. He is a Founding Member and on the Board of Directors of the Veterans Bar Association – Detroit Chapter and he is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Detroit Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association. He is recognized as a leader in his field by Michigan Super Lawyers "Rising Stars". Mr. Dewey received his B.A. from Loyola University New Orleans and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.

Peter Domas is a Member in the firm's Troy office. His practice is devoted to representing clients in the healthcare industry, and assisting them in navigating the complex statutory and regulatory environment unique to healthcare corporate, transactional, and litigation matters. He also counsels clients on the development and maintenance of effective internal compliance programs with a special focus on federal and state fraud and abuse laws, reimbursement regulations, and HIPAA. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the State Bar of Michigan. He is recognized as a leader in his field by Michigan Super Lawyers "Rising Stars". Mr. Domas received his B.B.A from the University of Michigan-Flint, his M.S. in Accountancy from Walsh College, and his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy Law School.

Ian Hunter is a Member in the firm's Grand Rapids office. His practice covers a broad range of real estate and corporate transactions. His real estate practice includes representing commercial and residential developers from financing and acquisition through entitlement, development, and construction, to ultimate leasing or disposition. He also represents both landlords and tenants in connection with the leasing of retail, office, medical, industrial, and mixed-use properties throughout the United States. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the State Bar of California, the State Bar of Oregon, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Mr. Hunter received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Sara Jodka is a Member in the firm's Columbus office. She dedicates her practice to working with business-side clients to anticipate, identify, and resolve labor and employment; data privacy and cyber security issues, including preparing for and remedying data breaches; and litigation risks. Her labor and employment practice includes defending collective/class actions; all forms of discrimination, retaliation and whistleblower claims, and working with companies on day-to-day compliance issues. She is a certified professional privacy professional for the United States (CIPP-US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and regularly works with businesses to review and audit their privacy policies and procedures to get them in compliance; preparing for and responding to data breaches; and post-breach remedying. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, where she is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Labor and Employment Section; the Human Resources Association of Central Ohio, where she is the chair of the Employee Relations Special Interest Group, Infragard, the IAPP, among others. She is recognized as a leader in her field by Ohio Super Lawyers, and has been included as one of the top 25 women attorneys in Columbus and top 50 women attorneys in Ohio.

Erin Johnson is a Member in the firm's Troy office. Her practice focuses on advising entities and individuals in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, development, and financing, of office, retail, multi-family, and mixed-use projects throughout the United States. She is also experienced in a wide variety of corporate matters including entity formation, organization, and governance. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. Ms. Johnson received her B.F.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.

Mordy Mednick is a Member in the firm's Toronto office. He focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation with a particular focus on business disputes. He has worked on a number of matters, including contractual and shareholder disputes, fraud, misrepresentation, construction disputes and real estate matters. He has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and conducted numerous motions. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and The Advocates' Society. He received his B.A. in Law from Dalhousie University's Faculty of Law.

Shannon Nichols is a Member in the firm's Troy office. She has significant experience in all aspects of real estate finance, including representing national and regional lenders, mortgage bankers and loan servicers, with emphasis on capital markets, conduit and bank financing, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily and manufactured housing lending and working on loan modifications and workouts. She also has extensive commercial real estate and corporate experience, having represented clients in private practice and as in-house counsel for MSX International and Kmart Corporation. In the course of her work, she has represented companies in their financing, acquisition and disposition of various assets, including significant real estate assets. She has managed and negotiated hundreds of commercial leases and assisted real estate developers and investors with a variety of corporate, regulatory, and real estate matters. She received her B.A. from Alma College and her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

Samantha Pattwell is a Member in the firm's Lansing office. Her practice involves all aspects of civil/commercial litigation and real estate litigation, concentrating on property disputes, insurance and ERISA litigation, employment litigation, contested mortgage foreclosure cases, and consumer class action defense. Her work includes cases at both the trial and appellate level in state and federal courts. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Ingham County Bar Association, the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, the Federal Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute. She is recognized as a leader in her field by Michigan Super Lawyers "Rising Stars". Ms. Pattwell received her B.A. from Western Michigan University and her J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law.

Jenny Slocum is a Member in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. She works on a variety of trademark and copyright matters including trademark clearance, prosecution, international portfolio management and licensing, counterfeit monitoring and enforcement, and copyright protection strategies. She also practices before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, as well as trademark infringement and unfair competition suits. She is a member of the International Trademark Association, and has Bar membership in the District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and State of New York. Ms. Slocum received her B.A. from Colgate University and her J.D. from Pace University School of Law.

Matthew Snider is a Member in the firm's Ann Arbor office. He focuses his practice on trademarks, including trademark prosecution, portfolio management, trademark infringement, and unfair competition. He also conducts trademark availability searches and provides risk assessment opinions on behalf of a wide range of clients, including a major U.S. and international retailer, a leading global IT and software company, pharmaceutical companies, and leading international automotive companies. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the State Bar of North Carolina, and the International Trademark Association. Mr. Snider received his B.S. from Michigan State University and his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law.

Andrew Sparks is a Member in the firm's Lexington office. He practices in the area of litigation with a particular emphasis on false claims act matters, government enforcement, white-collar criminal defense, internal and government investigations, health care, and complex business disputes. He also has worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Kentucky where he served as the chief of the white-collar crime division, responsible for all matters involving health care fraud, financial fraud, bank fraud, mortgage fraud, tax fraud, public corruption, cybercrime, environmental crime and civil False Claims Act cases. He is President of the Kentucky Federal Bar Association, and a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Fayette Bar Association, and the American Health Lawyers Association. Suzanne Sukkar is a Member in the firm's Ann Arbor office. Her practice focuses on business immigration including global workforce mobility, employment-based sponsorship and visa matters, immigration audit and compliance for corporate and individual clients across a vast array of industries. She developed a niche expertise in the area of E treaty trade and investor visas, consular processing, and start-up ventures. Through strategic planning and by offering creative solutions, she has assisted with the seamless transfer of numerous workers world-wide. Ms. Sukkar is recognized as a leader in her field by Best Lawyers in America, Michigan Super Lawyers "Rising Stars", and DBusiness Top Lawyers and Leading Lawyers.
