Elder law attorney Anthony J. Enea, member of Enea, Scanlan & Sirignano, LLP in White Plains and Somers, N.Y., has been elected chair of the Senior Lawyers Section of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). Mr. Enea will provide strategic direction for the section for a one-year term.

Anthony J. Enea has been a member of the NYSBA's Senior Lawyers Section for five years and previously served as chair of the organization's Elder Law and Special Needs Section. He has dedicated over thirty years to protecting the rights of seniors, the disabled and their families.

Senior lawyers currently make up 25 percent of the NYSBA's membership. The Senior Lawyers Section provides opportunities for members to maintain their legal careers while utilizing their expertise in such activities as delivering pro bono and civic service, mentoring younger lawyers, serving on boards of directors for business and charitable organizations, and lecturing and writing. The section addresses career continuity and offers CLE courses as well as social activities relevant to seniors.

A strong leader in Westchester's legal community, Mr. Enea is president of the Westchester County Bar Foundation and past president of the Westchester County Bar Association. He was named Westchester County's Leading Elder Care Attorney at the Above the Bar Awards and Best Lawyers' 2019 Trusts & Estates "Lawyer of the Year" in White Plains.
