NEW YORK, Sept. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Applied Cognitive Engineering ("ACE"), maker of the Soccer IntelliGym and Hockey IntelliGym, announced a $3 million round of funding to expand into the North American and European markets. The company also recently signed Brazil's Botafogo Football Club to take part in its proven game-sense enhancing program.

Elite football clubs in Germany, the Netherlands, and Austria already use the Soccer IntelliGym to improve on-pitch game sense. Botafogo had launched their first training session in August. The Soccer IntelliGym is a game-intelligence improvement software. It is designed for soccer players all the way from 10 years old to pros. Originally designed to train fighter pilots, the program has been tested and proven to enhance decision making, positioning, anticipation, off-ball movement, and overall game sense.

Recently, a controlled study by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam scientists on elite youth soccer players using the IntelliGym showed that players' transition game was improved by 12.5% within only 15 training sessions; Off-ball movement and positioning was improved by 56%. On-field decision making was improved by 27%

IntelliGym has recently raised $3M in funding with a goal of launching and marketing in the USA and Europe. The round's lead investor is a UK managed Chinese fund, Golden Arie Capital.

"We were highly impressed with the IntelliGym team and technology. We know that in the world of sport, decision making makes the difference between the best and the rest," said chairman and founding partner of Golden Arie Capital Stephen Margolis. "A highly effective training system can provide players and teams with the sought edge. We can definitely see how this revolutionary training platform will become an integral part of each athlete's training regimen."

"This round is an important step for ACE and anyone involved with the company. The team is now addressing a huge global market via the world's most popular sport, soccer. We are now positioned to substantiate market leadership in the ever evolving world of cognitive training for athletes," said Danny Dankner, CEO for Applied Cognitive Engineering.

The Soccer IntelliGym follows the well-known Hockey IntelliGym program, which is used by the US U17 and U18 National Teams since the 2009/10 season. On average, players increased their number of goals and assists by 42% within the first season using the IntelliGym. The program has also shown to increase on-ice awareness and reduce head impacts.
