Mellanox InfiniBand to Accelerate U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory's New Supercomputer

InfiniBand in-network computing acceleration technology to enable the new 8 petaflop supercomputer to deliver highest applications performance and scalability

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. MLNX, a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end smart interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems, today announced that InfiniBand has been chosen to accelerate the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) new supercomputer. The new 8 Petaflop system named "Eagle" will consist of more than 2100 nodes and deliver 3 times the performance compared to NREL's current supercomputing platform. Eagle will be put into production in January 2019.
