Five Court Reporters Recognized for Excellence Among Peers

At First Choice Reporting we know our clients place their faith in our court reporters when facing a complicated deposition or need instant access to testimony. On the weekend of June 9th and 10th, five of our team members were recognized by their peers for earning that trust at the 2018 Florida Court Reporters Association (FCRA) annual convention.

Laura Landerman, one of First Choice Reporting's Central Florida reporters, was awarded the Overall Challenge Winner with a score of 98.78% in real-time writing. Laura faced off against participants from around the state in three challenges: jury charge at 180 words per minute, literary at 180 words per minute, and Q&A at 225 words per minute.

Cathy Carpenter, a First Choice reporter from Tampa/St. Petersburg, won the President's Award for her outstanding work to support the FCRA president.

South Florida reporter Rosa Naccarato won the Emily Mann Distinguished Service Award. This is the highest award given out by FCRA. This is the second year in a row that a First Choice Reporting team member received this award.

Christy Bradshaw, Vice President in the North Florida market, was awarded the Meritorious Service Award. This award is presented by the FCRA president to a reporter who has provided "over and above the call of duty" service to the FCRA for one or more years.

Last but certainly not least, First Choice Reporting is thrilled to announce Rick Levy, Vice President for the South Florida market, was awarded the Arlene P. Sommers Award for Excellence in Education. This award is given to a court reporting educator who has displayed the highest ethical and moral standards and made the greatest contribution to the education of court reporting students.
