CRS Cybersecurity Hearing Data on Women:
Recently, the Congressional Research Service (CRS) collected data on Congressional hearings related to cybersecurity conducted during the 112th through 115th Congresses showing out of 979 people who testified before Congressional Committees on Cybersecurity issues only 206 of them were women. EWF's Founder and CEO, Joyce Brocaglia states, "With only 21% women testifying, clearly women cybersecurity subject matter experts are being underutilized. We aim to improve those percentages. Women play a tremendously important role in society and in the cybersecurity workforce and we should also play an equally important role in the development of cybersecurity legislation. For the past 16 years, the EWF has been engaging, developing and advancing women leaders in our field who possess the knowledge to solve complex cybersecurity and privacy issues. Now is the time to support women's leadership on Capitol Hill, now is the time to have women cybersecurity executives testify before Congress and now is the time to engage more women in the legislative process."
