Nikola Duric to Sponsor Scholarship for Law Students

Nikola Duric, Esq., founder and principal of Duric Law Offices in Park Ridge, Illinois recently announced, along with his family, the renewal and sponsorship of the Marko Duric Memorial Scholarship in honor of his late father, Marko Duric.

Nikola Duric, Esq., founder and principal of Duric Law Offices in Park Ridge, Illinois recently announced, along with his family, the renewal and sponsorship of the Marko Duric Memorial Scholarship in honor of his late father, Marko Duric. The scholarship is given annually to a promising law student enrolled a U.S. law school.

Nikola Duric has been practicing law for over 30 years and specializes in civil and commercial litigation. He is also experienced in real estate transactions and negotiations, real estate, title and banking law. He recently announced the successful resolution of several significant and complex real estate litigation matters and has worked with some of the largest financial institutions and title companies in the United States.

Nikola is also the proud founder of the Serbian Bar Association of America Scholarship program. The Serbian Bar Association of America (SBAA) is the professional organization for Serbian-American attorneys, legal professionals, and law students. For over twenty-five years, the SBAA has provided networking and career support to Serbian-Americans in the legal profession, and helped represent the interests of the Serbian community in the United States.

The SBAA, through its sister organization the SBAA Scholarship Foundation, is also dedicated to providing financial assistance to Serbian-American law students at its annual Scholarship Gala and has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to law students. The scholarship program has now generated an additional four scholarship sponsors, each awarding scholarships to deserving U.S. law students. As a result, since its inception, several hundred scholarships have been awarded to exemplary law students in law schools throughout the United States.

"My father and mother who came from war-torn World War II Europe instilled in me the central values I utilize on a daily basis in my business. My parents helped inspire me to give back in many ways," says Nikola Duric, "this includes providing pro bono legal assistance to individuals with limited financial resources and new immigrants, as well as supporting the legal community by endowing scholarships to help support future lawyers and leaders."

About Nikola Duric

Nikola Duric has extensive trial experience in all aspects of business, banking, real estate and commercial litigation. Nikola has represented large and small business clients in complicated business disputes some involving tens of millions of dollars, including the defense of large scale commercial foreclosure litigation and issues relating to closely held businesses. He has successfully prosecuted or defended real estate foreclosure cases as well as different business litigation. He has participated in multi-jurisdictional litigation. Nikola graduated from Loyola University of Chicago earning a B.B.A in Finance.

Nikola Duric was awarded the President's Medallion as a top business student and received the Edwin Kerwin Finance Scholarship. He obtained his law degree from the Loyola University of Chicago where he received the Dean's Merit Award and was a member of the Niagara Moot Court Team.

Nikola Duric is past Chairman of the United States Department of Education Fund for the Improvement and Reform of Schools and Teaching and past Vice President of the Maine Township District 207 School Board. He has provided countless hours of pro bono service to individuals without the means to obtain legal services, including providing assistance to Have Dreams an organization dedicated to helping those with autism. Nikola is a founding member of the St. Basil Serbian Orthodox Church of Mettawa, Illinois.
