Educators Invited to Build Curriki's Spanish Education Library from the Ground Up

Cupertino, CO (PRWEB) June 09, 2017

Curriki, a leading global provider of free Open Educational Resources (OER), is issuing a call for high-quality Spanish-language content for its new Beta Spanish-language site to help deliver Spanish OER resources to more learners worldwide.

Curriki is inviting educators to publish their lesson plans, units, assessments, instructional videos in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and history on the growing site, found online at http://www.curriki.org/es/.

The creation of Spanish Curriki comes in response to growing interest in Open Educational Resources by educators, parents and students who speak and/or teach Spanish. Since its creation in late 2016, the site has amassed 629 resources written in Spanish, but Curriki is still in the process of expanding its library.

"We are asking educators and homeschoolers who teach in Spanish to help the entire Spanish-language education community by uploading your curricula and sharing what works for you," said Kim Jones, Curriki's CEO, adding that Curriki also seeks help translating its vast library of high-quality English-language curricula into Spanish.

"Our mission is to ensure that all children—no matter where they come from, where they live or what language they speak—receive a world-class education. Access to Curriki's free OER Library is critical to their success," said Jones. "We feel that offering Spanish-language curricula is a significant first step toward providing teachers, schools and parents with the support they need to reach every child, and for students to access resources in their native language."

Curriki depends on the education community to participate by uploading new Spanish-language curriculum, and by helping translate its more than 256,000 teaching and learning resources from English to Spanish.
