National Debt Relief recently shared in an article published February 6, 2017 some valuable financial tips to help families with college education expenses. The article titled "Worried About How to Pay For College? Here are 8 Tips That Can Help" takes a look at some of the things families can do together to address the rising cost of college tuition fees.

The article starts off by highlighting the fact that the cost of attendance is quite a prohibitive factor in pursuing higher education. There are a lot of students who are scared of pursuing advanced education because of student loans. However, there are ways to minimize the amount they have to take out and borrow.

The article suggests that one of the first things people need to do is to apply for financial aid. The first step is to fill out a Free Application For Student Aid or FAFSA. This document will determine the amount of financial aid a student will receive. This is because the document is used as well in determining the Estimated Family Contribution or EFC.

It is also a good idea to apply to more than just one school. This helps the student weigh in several factors especially the cost. The article shares that it is better to have more than just one option so students would have a backup plan in case the first option does not pan out.

The article also shares that it might be a good idea for students to try and live with their parents for a few years to save on cost. This would automatically take out the cost for room and board and put the funds directly into the cost of attendance.
