All of the lawsuits pending in the proceedings similarly allege that transvaginal mesh products marketed by the defendants were defectively designed and manufactured, and caused recipients to suffer painful and debilitating vaginal mesh complications.

Bard, Inc., (MDL No. 2187), and In re: Ethicon, Inc. (MDL No. 2327). More than 40,000 transvaginal mesh lawsuits have been filed in the litigations now underway in West Virginia.
