Leading Software Industry Executive, Andre M Boisvert, Joins Actian Corporation Board of Directors

Actian Corporation (“Actian”), a global data management leader with one of the most advanced and comprehensive big data solution portfolios including the record breaking Vectorwise analytic database, RushAnalytics for Hadoop acceleration and Actian DataCloud for cloud and on premise data integration, today announced that Andre M Boisvert has joined the board of directors for Actian.

Boisvert started his career with IBM in 1976 where he spent 13 years. While at IBM, Boisvert held senior management positions in sales, marketing and research & development. After leaving IBM, Boisvert held executive positions in some of the most respected software companies in the industry, such as Cognos Inc. and Oracle Corporation where he was senior vice president of worldwide marketing and was a member of Oracle's Management committee.

In 2000, Boisvert was recruited as president and COO of SAS Institute Inc., the world's largest privately held software company with revenues approaching $3 billion annually, with the mission of bringing the company public. When the plans of an IPO were abandoned, Boisvert followed one of SAS's investments by becoming chairman and CEO of Sagent Technologies Inc. SGNT. In April of 2004, Boisvert successfully completed the sale of Sagent Technologies Inc. to Group 1 Software Inc. GSOF.

In March 2002, Boisvert became a director of VA Software LNUX, the creator and owner of SourceForge, the largest worldwide repository of open source projects. During his four year term at VA Software, Boisvert developed a wealth of knowledge about open source projects and their applicability to solving real world problems.

This experience led Boisvert to co-found Pentaho Corporation in October of 2004, the world's most popular commercial open source business intelligence platform. Boisvert then went on to invest and serve as an advisor/director of several other leading commercial open source companies, Revolution Analytics (predictive analytics), Zenoss Inc. (systems management), Infobright (data warehousing) and Zend Corporation (the PHP company).

Boisvert is also chairman of Palamida Corporation, a leader in Software Composition Analysis for intellectual property & security risk management, vice-chairman of River Logic Inc., a leader in advance & predictive analytics and director of Clario Analytics Inc., a cloud based analytics solution aimed at companies using multi-channels to market their products and services.

In 2011, Boisvert joined the board of directors of London based Emailvision Ltd., a leader in email and social marketing, and Portland based Webtrends Corporation, a leader in digital marketing analytics. In 2012 Boisvert became a director of Issuer Direct ISDR, a leading provider of corporate regulatory compliance solutions and services.

Boisvert previously served as chairman of UBmatrix Inc., the creator of the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL), until it was acquired by Edgar Online EDGR and Odyssey Financial Technologies Inc., a Swiss-based private wealth and asset management software company, until it was acquired by Temenos Finance Luxembourg SARL TEMN.
