Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) April 06, 2012

Scottsdale Arizona-Barker Educational Services Team (BEST) announced this week that it is launching a new training division in its Scottsdale offices. In addition to the new training division, BEST will be partnering with the Center for Corporate Development who will serve as BEST's exclusive training partner. The new training division will be working with admissions departments at private colleges to help retool their work force with skills to enhance performance while emphasizing compliance with the new federal admissions regulations. The new training curriculum is titled 'Service First' and it focuses on building a successful enrollment department on a foundation of world class service to students.

In July of 2011, the Department of Education rolled out new legislation that dictates acceptable enrollment management practices for proprietary colleges. These changes led to wide ranging policy changes at many colleges and commensurate declines in enrollment performance. BEST believes that its new training division can help many colleges to improve enrollment performance by teaching personal accountability skills and teamwork instead of emphasizing numbers and other traditional sales metrics.

Bob Barker, CEO of BEST, had this to say "The new rules changed the nature of enrollment at many proprietary schools. Enrollment management tools have been changed or removed and individual admissions advisors are confused as to what their job is in the new environment. Sadly, this new environment is one in which performance, and more importantly, service to students has suffered. Our training program is about reinvigorating an admissions staff and empowering managers with the tools to motivate a team in this new environment." On Choosing the Center for Corporate Development as a partner Barker added "I met the President Dwight Lamb during my days with the Apollo Group and I can think of no one better to lead this charge. Dwight brings unshakable ethics and infectious enthusiasm and I know that together we can change the face of enrollment for the better".

Dwight Lamb, a corporate trainer with over two decades of experience serving Fortune 500 companies had this to add, "I am really excited about this opportunity. BEST is a great group and I am convinced we have a terrific product." He also had this to say about the goal of the new training program, "We are going to change the way admissions advisors see their jobs. The rules may have changed, but standards of excellence never change. Helping people accomplish their academic goals is a noble pursuit. I want the people in this program to feel that, and to be passionate about making a significant difference in people's lives."
