Jacobs Receives Contract From the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory at Edwards AFB

PASADENA, Calif., March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. JEC announced today that it received a follow-on contract to provide research operations and support services (ROSS) for the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Edwards Air Force Base (AFB), Calif.

The contract has a potential value of approximately $87 million with a three-year basic period of performance and one two-year award option. Its effective date is April 1, 2011.

As the incumbent contractor with more than 15 years experience on-site, Jacobs' staff of propulsion and support professionals provide research operations support to the AFRL, including planning, scheduling, management and evaluation of liquid, solid, hybrid, electronic and chemical propulsion system tests. Jacobs' experts utilize cutting-edge technology in the design, modification, operations and maintenance of rocket/laboratory facilities.

Jacobs' support to the AFRL-Edwards dates back to the 1960s when Jacobs' personnel began coordinating rocket test programs for the U.S. Air Force (USAF). With this win, Jacobs continues its more than 70-year relationship with the USAF by serving as one of the AFRL's premier providers for advanced engineering and technical support at AFRL headquarters and 10 directorates spread across 26 locations.
