HORSHAM, Pa., Jan. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ORBIT/FR, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ORFR), a Microwave Vision Company and a leading producer of automated microwave test and measurement systems for the aerospace, defense, communications, automotive and satellite industries, closed out the 2010 calendar year with several significant orders totaling approximately $3.3 million.

All recent significant orders came from the aerospace & defense industry; with the majority from aviation customers worldwide, as well as some from the U.S. military and government contractors.

In the U.S., The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded a contract for a turnkey shielded anechoic chamber to test tactical air navigation (TACAN) antennas. The chamber will be delivered with a positioning subsystem for accurate antenna alignment. Another turnkey anechoic chamber has been ordered by a military and civilian RF solution provider.  This chamber will be used for direction finding application testing and will include an RF absorber treatment supplied by ORBIT/FR's wholly-owned subsidiary, Advanced ElectroMagnetics, Inc. In addition to these chambers, the United States Navy has awarded an order for a planar tower (inverted-T) scanner system for radar applications.

Two major contracts came from Asia. An Israeli aerospace company has placed an order for a state-of-the-art antenna measurement system. The delivered system will include expert RF design, a high-accuracy positioning subsystem, and ORBIT/FR's antenna test and measurement software. An Asian aerospace customer has recently awarded a contract for a plane polar near-field measurement system to be used for spacecraft payload testing.
