BETHESDA, Md., Aug. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- AdvisorShares, a leading sponsor of actively managed exchange-traded funds (ETFs), announced today that the AdvisorShares New Tech and Media ETF FNG has met listing requirements of the Chicago Board Options Exchange® (CBOE®) and that FNG options are now listed for trading on the CBOE. Susquehanna Securities, an affiliate of Susquehanna International Group, LLP, will act as specialist.

Among the requirements that a security must satisfy is "distribution" before the CBOE will list options on it. There must be a certain number of outstanding shares, and the shares must be owned by a minimum number of people. Otherwise, ownership of the security is deemed "too highly concentrated."1

FNG seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund is an actively managed ETF that seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in securities of technology and media companies. FNG is managed by Sabretooth Advisors, LLC, an SEC-registered RIA. For more information on the fully transparent FNG, including its underlying holdings, please visit the ETF's webpage, https://www.advisorshares.com/fund/fng

There is no guarantee that the Fund will achieve its investment objective. An investment in the Fund is subject to risk, including the possible loss of principal amount invested. When the Fund focuses its investments in a particular industry or sector, financial, economic, business, and other developments affecting issuers in that industry, market, or economic sector will have a greater effect on the Fund than if it had not done so. Market or economic factors impacting technology companies and companies that rely heavily on technological advances could have a major effect on the value of the Fund's investments. Shares of the Fund may trade above or below their net asset value ("NAV"). The trading price of the Fund's shares may deviate significantly from their NAV during periods of market volatility. There can be no assurance that an active trading market for the Fund's shares will develop or be maintained. In addition, equity markets tend to move in cycles which may cause stock prices to fall over short or extended periods of time. Other Fund risks include market risk, liquidity risk, large cap, mid cap, and small cap risk. Please see prospectus for details regarding risk.

Shares are bought and sold at market price (closing price) not net asset value (NAV) and are not individually redeemed from the Fund. Market price returns are based on the midpoint of the bid/ask spread at 4:00 pm Eastern Time (when NAV is normally determined) and do not represent the return you would receive if you traded at other times.

An Option is a privilege, sold by one party to another that gives the buyer the right, but not the obligation, to buy (call) or sell (put) a stock at an agreed-upon price within a certain period or on a specific date.
