BOSTON, Feb. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Eaton Vance Senior Income Trust EVF (the "Fund"), a closed-end management investment company, today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three months and the six months ended December 31, 2014. The Fund's fiscal year ends on June 30, 2015. 

For the three months ended December 31, 2014, the Fund had net investment income of $3,911,624 ($0.104 per common share). From this amount, the Fund paid dividends on preferred shares of $29,345 (equal to less than $0.001 for each common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $3,882,279 or $0.104 per common share. For the six months ended December 31, 2014, the Fund had net investment income of $7,668,544 ($0.203 per common share). From this amount, the Fund paid dividends on preferred shares of $54,567 (equal to $0.001 for each common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $7,613,977 or $0.202 per common share. In comparison, for the three months ended December 31, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $4,147,003 ($0.109 per common share). From this amount, the Fund paid dividends on preferred shares of $23,119 (equal to less than $0.001 for each common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $4,123,884 or $0.109 per common share. For the six months ended December 31, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $8,108,381 ($0.214 per common share). From this amount, the Fund paid dividends on preferred shares of $46,712 (equal to $0.001 for each common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $8,061,669 or $0.213 per common share.

Net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended December 31, 2014 were $5,272,556 ($0.138 per common share). The Fund's net realized and unrealized losses for the six months ended December 31, 2014 were $11,847,119 ($0.312 per common share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended December 31, 2013 were $2,592,777 ($0.074 per common share). The Fund's net realized and unrealized gains for the six months ended December 31, 2013 were $2,975,247 ($0.084 per common share). 

On December 31, 2014, net assets of the Fund applicable to common shares were $266,238,516. The net asset value per common share on December 31, 2014 was $7.03 based on 37,866,607 common shares outstanding. In comparison, on December 31, 2013, net assets of the Fund applicable to common shares were $278,931,557. The net asset value per common share on December 31, 2013 was $7.37 based on 37,866,607 common shares outstanding.
