Analysts Are Bullish On Telecoms

Is it time to buy telecoms? Telecom stocks like AT&T (

) and Verizon (

) are offering up some great dividends right now. Barclays analyst David Burks is bullish on telecoms. He thinks that they have much more room to grow because of their underperformance. Burks said that the market has "performed well as of late, but if you go back to the market bottom in March '09, the S&P 500 has risen 70 percent since then; and by contrast, telecoms have risen about 40 percent, so we believe there's still some further upside left."
