MCInfo used by KYTC for nearly two decades

Beginning Tuesday, the Motor Carrier Information Exchange (MCInfo) service will be the recommended method for filing intrastate motor carrier insurance forms to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC). MCInfo, managed by National Online Registries (NOR), allows insurance companies to generate and file common insurance forms instantly online.

KYTC has received and processed electronic insurance forms filed through MCInfo for nearly two decades. The state requires insurance forms E, H and K for motor carriers operating within its borders.

"Managing insurance filings through MCInfo helps us review forms efficiently and quickly communicate the results to insurance companies," said Robin Snook, Administrative Branch Manager. "The transition to a fully electronic filing process will make it easier for motor carriers to stay on the road in Kentucky and continue serving our citizens."

Kentucky is one of 22 states currently participating in MCInfo. For these states, MCInfo provides a centralized system to receive and review insurance filings, automatically communicate with insurance companies, and track trends and progress via the reporting feature.

"We're honored that Kentucky has entrusted NOR to provide online filing services for insurance companies working with motor carriers statewide," said Laura Johnson, General Manager of NOR. "We believe companies that file online will appreciate the benefits of a web-based system that simplifies and expedites the form submission process."

Currently, insurance companies can complete and file 16 forms using MCInfo. MCInfo speeds up the submission process and increases transparency by providing visibility and tracking of insurance filings through the approval process. Automatic data population helps save time and prevent data entry errors when submitting multiple forms at once.
