Minneapolis, the Largest U.S. Metro Area Not Served by JetBlue, becomes 65th Nonstop Destination from Boston Focus City

JetBlue JBLU today announced the start of service at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), with the airline's inaugural flight from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) touching down just before 9 a.m. local time. The new flights in the Twin Cities mark the first-ever scheduled JetBlue service in Minnesota and bring a new option for travelers with the airline operating the route three times daily.

"With the most legroom in coach, complimentary gate-to-gate high-speed Fly-Fi Internet, free unlimited snacks, the best crewmembers in the industry and great fares; JetBlue is ready to change the way customers fly in Minneapolis and Saint Paul," said John Checketts, vice president network planning, JetBlue. "We're raising the bar on what Twin Cities travelers can come to expect when they fly."

Minneapolis – Saint Paul attracts more than 30 million visitors annually and is home to more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies. The Twin Cities also regularly receive top marks for jobs, education and quality of life among large American metropolitan areas. And Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport is a world-class facility, just 10 miles from both downtown Minneapolis and downtown Saint Paul, which handles nearly 40 million travelers each year.

"The Metropolitan Airports Commission – together with our business partners in the community – has been pursuing service from JetBlue for a decade," said Brian Ryks, CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission. "JetBlue is one of the most respected airlines in the nation, and we couldn't be more pleased to have this added service to Boston – the 10th most popular destination for Minnesota travelers."

All Minneapolis flights will be operated on JetBlue's Airbus A320 aircraft featuring the airline's award-winning service with comfortable seating; complimentary and unlimited name-brand snacks; more than 100 channels of free SIRIUSXM® radio programming and 36 channels of free, live DIRECTV® programming on personal seatback televisions; free Fly-Fi high-speed wireless Internet (a), and the most legroom in coach. JetBlue's new Twin Cities service also advances the airline's position as the top airline in Boston in number of flights, customers carried and nonstop destinations served. Minneapolis will be the 65th nonstop city served from Logan. The long list of JetBlue destinations can also help Minneapolis customers expand their travel experience with convenient connections across the JetBlue network. JetBlue has also built a rich portfolio of interline and codeshare agreements with other airlines at Logan that help connect customers to global destinations. Travelers can connect to cities around the world on carriers such as Emirates, EL AL, Aer Lingus, Etihad and Qatar Airways.
