Revenues for this quarter are projected to be 0.9% higher year-over-year and stand at $4.27 billion. Computer Sciences Corporation is engaged in the information technology and professional services industry. The company offers an array of services to clients in the commercial and government markets and specializes in the application of complex information technology. Looking ahead, this is predicted to be a year of slow growth in revenues and falling earnings per share for Computer Sciences. In Q2, earnings per share is expected to reach $1.03, up 13.2% on last year's $0.91. For the whole year, however, earnings per share should be $5.21, 1.3% lower than a year ago, when it stood at $5.28. Q2 revenues are expected to be $4.07 billion, a slight fall on Q1 but an increase of 3.2% over a year. For fiscal 2011, the company slashed its profit forecast from $5.20 to $4.75 per share, while revenues are downgraded from $16.2 billion to $16.1 billion. Investors will be hoping its acquisition of healthcare software provider iSOFT Group for about $188 million will be able to bring in some extra profit. Some investors might also be encouraged by Computer Sciences' ability to beat market expectations, as illustrated on three occasions last year. The majority of rating agencies have a Hold rating on Computer Sciences' shares. The mean target price is currently set at $51.50. Computer Sciences' shares plunged by almost 13% today to trade at $43.99.
