VinFast Auto Ltd VFS shares are trading higher after the company on Thursday announced that it will showcase its latest electric vehicle at the annual United Nations summit on climate change.
What To Know: COP28 will host over 70,000 delegates to help facilitate action on climate change. The Vietnamese EV maker is set to speak and display its VF 9 EV as part of the Vietnamese delegation led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
"We are honored to be playing an active role at COP28, sharing our experiences in building and maintaining sustainable supply chains, and exploring how, together, we can further contribute to the world's sustainable development," said Madame Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vingroup vice chairwoman and Global CEO of VinFast.
Vinfast also announced that it will be showcasing its VF 9 EV in the region from Nov. 30 to Dec. 12. The EV is the company's highest-end model with up to 402 horsepower and EPS range of 330 miles. The vehicle also features a wide range of advanced technologies, the company said.
VinFast began trading on the Nasdaq earlier this year. The stock has been very volatile since the listing and has grabbed the attention of retail investors. It was among the top trending tickers on Stocktwits at last check.

VFS Price Action: VinFast shares were up 21.4% at $9.18 at the time of publication, according to Benzinga Pro.
