Elon Musk Jokes He's Got A 'Great Set Of Slides' On This 'Star Trek' Tech: 'Works Really Well In Sim!'

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Saturday that he has a “great set of slides” on teleportation, evoking interesting reactions from users on X.

What Happened: Musk responded to Bojan Tunguz, software engineer at Nvidia Corp, enquiring about startups working on teleportation saying, “I've got a great set of slides on that.”

“Works really well in sim!” Musk added in humor.

Some X users responded to Musk by contemplating the possibilities of teleportation, while others noted the dangers posed by the idea. Others recommended names while yet others joked about slides and power points.

“I have the same opinion of transporters as Dr McCoy….. I would like all my functioning atoms to remain as intact as possible at all time….,” a user wrote, referring to the fictional Dr. Leonard H. McCoy, known as “Bones”, in the American science-fiction franchise “Star Trek.”

“Slides = almost ready for market. Sweet!” another chided.

“If it was possible to remotely operate an Optimus unit in real-time via Neuralink, that would certainly feel like teleportation,” a user offered.

Why It Matters: Musk has previously joked about teleportation on X. In 2017, Musk pulled an April fool’s joke on the audience and wrote, “Technology breakthrough: turns out chemtrails are actually a message from time-traveling aliens describing the secret of teleportation.” Chemtrails refers to a conspiracy theory that the condensation trails left behind by jets are composed of chemical agents being sprayed by the government.

In July 2018, he even said that he had a teleportation stargate to the Andromeda galaxy.
