Donald Trump on Monday said he would surrender to Atlanta prosecutors this Thursday, following a racketeering indictment linked to his efforts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results.

What Happened: Former president, who was indicted for the fourth time last week by a grand jury on racketeering charges, took to his social media platform Truth Social to announce that he will surrender to Atlanta authorities later this week.

"I'll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED," Trump wrote on Monday, labeling the case a “WITCH HUNT” and criticizing Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney leading the investigation.

“Can you believe it? I'll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History. In my case, the trip to Atlanta is not for "Murder," but for making a PERFECT PHONE CALL! She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money on, this WITCH HUNT. This is in strict coordination with Crooked Joe Biden's DOJ. It is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE!,” he wrote.

All 19 defendants, including Trump’s former lawyer John Eastman, have been ordered by Willis to surrender by Friday. Eastman is expected to be booked on Wednesday, as per court documents. The Fulton County District Attorney’s office hasn’t yet confirmed Trump’s booking timing.

Trump must adhere to a set of rules, as his bond is set at $200,000. These include explicit bans on using social media to threaten witnesses or co-defendants. Trump’s surrender will happen a day after the GOP presidential primary debate, which he, despite leading the race, chose to skip.
