Marjorie Taylor Greene Explores Senate Run, Open To Trump's Running Mate Consideration: 'Am I going To Be A Part...'

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) ponders a Senate run and a possible vice presidential role with Donald Trump.

What Happened: Greene, on Wednesday, during an interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, revealed that she is considering running for Senate in Georgia.

Greene, who was recently removed from the House Freedom Caucus, has been contemplating the idea for several months. Trump, during a rally in March, publicly supported Greene’s potential Senate run.

She also hinted at the possibility of a higher role alongside Trump. “Am I going to be a part of President Trump’s Cabinet if he wins? Is it possible that I’ll be VP?” she questioned.

She stated that if Trump asked her to be his running mate, she would weigh it “very, very heavily.”

Why It Matters: Greene has been a vocal supporter of Trump, even amidst his legal battles. She recently suggested that the indictments against Trump are indicative of communism in the U.S. and has criticized the Joe Biden-led administration for its actions.

The representative from Georgia has also expressed her belief in the importance of unity within the Republican party and has encouraged her fellow Republicans to trust in God rather than the news headlines.

Greene’s comments come at a time when Trump faces three indictments yet maintains his innocence.
