Nauticus Robotics Bags Petrobras Contract For Its Autonomous Robot

Nauticus Robotics Inc KITT has secured a contract with Petroleo Brasileiro S.A.PBR for its autonomous subsea robot, Aquanaut. The financial terms were not disclosed.

Nauticus will deploy the autonomous robot to support Petrobras' offshore activities.

Aquanaut will be used in Petrobras' Deepwater Production Field using supervised autonomy for infield inspection services.

The contract leads to a potential market worth over $100 million per year.

The contract consists of approximately two months of subsea inspection time and is one of the largest awarded contracts of its kind.

The fully electric Aquanaut carries an array of multi-spectral perception sensors that allow the robot to detect, classify, inspect, and act upon subsea infrastructure using its pair of manipulators without direct operator control. It provides considerable cost and greenhouse gas emissions reductions over conventional methods.

"The market opportunity for Nauticus in offshore Brazil is significant, as it is one of the world's most active offshore energy basins; we are pleased to enter this market through a world class operator," said CEO Nicolaus Radford.

Price Action: KITT shares are trading higher by 7.07% at $2.1201 on the last check Friday.
