Elon Musk Wraps Up Europe Tour: Macron Seeks Collaboration, Says 'Let's Work Together'

Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk returned to Texas over the weekend after concluding a European trip. The entrepreneur visited Italy and France during the visit to the continent.

Musk- Macron visit: During the early hours of Friday, French President Emmanuel Macron posted a picture with the Tesla CEO captioned, “Let's work together! #ChooseFrance

The photograph shows the French leader shaking hands with the Tesla CEO. However, neither Macron nor Musk provided further details on what was discussed or possible deals.

Musk and Macron are meeting for the second time since May 15. As per a Reuters report, Macron was eyeing selling France as an investment destination with Musk this time. Macron said they would talk about artificial intelligence, social media, and cars and batteries "to promote French and European attractiveness."

Earlier last week, during the tech conference, France’s digital minister Jean-Noel Barrot expressed the country’s desire for a Tesla factory.

Musk In France: The Tesla CEO, his mother, and model Maye Musk had lunch with Bernard Arnault of LVMH Moët Hennessy. Musk is pegged at $233 billion, while Arnault is worth $202 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire’s index, making them the two richest people in the world.

Musk also spoke at the Viva Tech conference later in the day.

On Thursday, Musk met with Italy Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. In a tweet on Thursday, the prime minister said it was a very ‘fruitful meeting' with Musk wherein they discussed artificial intelligence, European market rules, and birth rate, among others. The CEO also met with Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani and gave an interview with Italian journalist Nicola Porro

Meanwhile, Reuters reported earlier this month that Tesla is considering an investment in Spain. Presently, the company’s sole European Gigafactory is in Berlin, Germany.
