DC Antihero Movie Black Adam Tries To Redeem Box Office Disappointment By Streaming On HBO Max - Warner Bros. Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD)

Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc WBD DC antihero movie "Black Adam" started streaming on HBO Max. The movie starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, premiered in theaters on October 21.
It had opened to mixed responses, TechCrunch reports.
"Black Adam" performed poorly at the box office, earning $400 million globally against a $195 million budget excluding marketing and other costs related to promotion and distribution.
However, Johnson disputed claims that "Black Adam" would lose between $50 million - $100 million.

WBD appointed a veteran director-producer team of James Gunn and Peter Safran to the new roles of Co-Chair and CEOs of DC Studios in November.
Gunn and Safran have extensive experience with the superhero genre, bringing some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Universe's most popular characters to life.
The last few years have been chaotic for the DC franchises.
Marvel superhero movies have, on average, consistently outperformed DC's at the box office over the past two decades.
WBD CEO David Zaslav wanted to put in place a 10-year-plan to rebuild DC and make it better compete with Walt Disney Co DIS Marvel Studios
