- Delta Air Lines Inc DAL has agreed to offer a 34% pay raise for its pilots over the four-year term of an agreement reached with the parties.
- The agreement, the WSJ reported, must be approved by union leadership before going to pilots for a vote.
- It includes an 18% raise when the deal is signed, followed by three further pay increases in subsequent years.
- The agreement also includes a clause assuring Delta pilots at least 1% more than rivals at American Airlines Group Inc AAL and United Airlines Holdings Inc UAL.
- "We are pleased to have reached an agreement in principle for a new pilot contract, one that recognizes the contributions of our pilots to Delta's success," the company said.
- Pilots, affected by the pandemic and the slow economic recovery, have been organizing and harboring better deals.
- Price Action: DAL shares are trading lower by 0.17% at $35.65 in premarket on the last check Monday.
