The UK's Defense Minister Ben Wallace has said that Russia is cut off from the global supply chain and will soon run out of weapons before Ukraine does.

During an interview with Sky News, Wallace said, “Russia's ability to make and repair weapons and ammunition is tied up in a global supply chain that it has little current access to,” he added.

Since the Russia-Ukraine war, many countries have imposed sanctions on Russia, cutting it off from key supplies. In addition, more than 140 countries have pledged at the UN not to support Russia in its invasion of Ukraine.

"They need a supply chain, and large parts of their supply chain were not in Russia; they came from all over the world, including in Europe and, indeed, even in Ukraine," Wallace said.

The U.S. will provide military assistance valued at up to $725 million to Ukraine. This will bring Ukraine's total U.S. army assistance to more than $18.3 billion.

Wallace said the new international fund will provide equipment, including weapons, and support to Ukraine until 2024 and possibly beyond.

Meanwhile, President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia should be finished calling up reservists in two weeks.

He has also promised an end to a divisive mobilization that has seen hundreds of thousands of men summoned to fight in Ukraine.

Putin has said Russia had no plans "for now" for more massive air strikes like those it carried out this week.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reiterated that Ukraine's forces would retake all of its territories, even though there is a rhetorical change in Putin’s stand.
