EVINE Live Inc EVLV stock was trading higher by nearly 40 percent early Tuesday morning. The pay-TV home shopping company was named as a potential acquisition target by TechCrunch. According to the publication, Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN is exploring ways of marketing its products and services to consumers beyond the internet.

Cadence Design Systems Inc CDNS was trading higher by more than 11 percent in reaction to its first quarter report. The company said after Monday's market close it earned 40 cents per share in the first quarter on revenue of $517 million versus expectations of 37 cents per share and $505 million.

Aeglea Bio Therapeutics Inc AGLE gained more than 7 percent after receiving favorable coverage from a Wall Street analyst. Evercore ISI initiated coverage of the clinical-stage biotechnology that focuses on treatments for rate genetic diseases and cancer with a $37 price target. The firm said the stock represents "one of the most compelling investment opportunities in small-cap biotech."

United Technologies Corporation UTX gained more than 2 percent in reaction to its first quarter earnings report. The provider of products and services to the aerospace and building sector said it earned $1.77 per share in the first quarter on revenue of $15.2 billion versus expectations of $1.51 per share and $14.6 billion. The company also revised its full fiscal 2018 sales guidance from a range of $62.5-$64 billion to $63-$64.5 billion.

Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund XLK ETF could see increased volume after some of the biggest names in the group, including Alphabet Inc GOOG and Verizon Communications Inc. VZ reported better-than-expected first quarter earnings reports.
