Georgetown Wins University Investment Challenge

Students at Georgetown University were crowned with the title as being the best investment managers.

University students in both the United States and abroad took part in the challenge to manage a portfolio of real money. The competition was held in conjunction with Peeptrade and judged by a panel of experts. USC (University of Southern California) ranked second, followed by INSEAD, a graduate business school with campuses across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Peeptrade formed the challenge with the objective of giving students hands-on experience in the financial markets. Future competitions are expected to extend to even more universities across the globe.

Peeptrade's recent partnership with Interactive Brokers offered spectators the ability to follow each team's trading activity in real-time.

"This has truly been the most exciting competition we've had yet," said Peeptrade co-founder Ali Bakir. "We're looking forward to seeing if Georgetown can defend their title in the next challenge!"

Georgetown professor Thomas Cooke said, "This is just an astounding program. Speaking on behalf of the Georgetown team, I can say that this has been a fantastic opportunity for our students to bring the real world to the table."

Peeptrade's mobile app could be downloaded on both Google Play and the App Store.
