FBI Background Checks Continue To Swell, Post Second Quarter Of 44% YoY Growth
We are now in an election year and, like clockwork, the U.S. finds itself questioning gun laws. The nation has been be reviewing its laws, enforcement and education regarding handguns. While this is done, citizens have been on a blitz to do what they can to get new firearms according to the most recent monthly data from the FBI on background check requests.
January 2016 registered the third-largest month of checks in 18 years. Growth in requests year-over-year for January were up 44 percent, unchanged from December 2015's record level. The chart below has been covered here before.
