Medicines Co.is exploring a potential sale , according to sources as reported by Bloomberg on Wednesday. Benzinga had reported Tuesday, that Mallinckrodt PLC MNK could be a potential buyer. A spokesman for Medicines Co. declined comment on the Bloomberg report. Later on Wednesday, Reuters reported Medicines Co could be preparing to sell off key assets, as well as the entire company, according to their sources. Those assets are said to include the company's infectious disease care division and its surgery and perioperative care assets, Medicines Co closed at $36.06 up 14.44%. Chatter of NewsCorp Stake in Twitter The Rumor:
Shares of Twitter TWTR rose sharply Wednesday, on unconfirmed market chatter that Rupert Murdoch's News Corp NWSA is building a stake in the company. Twitter shares had traded as low as $15.48 prior to the rumor and hit a high of $19.04. News Corp denied the rumor. Twitter closed at $17.38 on Wednesday, up 4.13%. Synaptics Near Potential $110+/Share Deal With China-Backed Investor The Rumor:
Synaptics Inc.SYNA is progressing towards a deal with a state-backed Chinese investment group, according to sources as reported by Bloomberg on Wednesday. The group is said to value Synaptics at more than $110 per share. A deal could be reached after the Chinese New Year, the sources said. Synaptics CEO Rick Bergman declined comment on the rumor. Synaptics closed Wednesday at $78.55, up 26.59%.
