Monday's After-Hours Movers Led By Aquinox, Gray Television, Anthera & Braskem

Shares of Aquinox Pharmaceuticals Inc AQXP rose 1.85 percent on Monday, after biotech-focused hedge fund Baker Bros. Advisors LP, managed by Julian and Felix Baker, disclosed a 58 percent increase in its exposure to the company.

In after-hours trading, the stock continued to rise about 1.25 percent to roughly $17.80 per share. Other hedge funds betting on the small-cap clinical stage pharmaceutical company are Peter Kolchinsky’s RA Capital Management, which recently declared holding 1,032,151 shares of the company, and Kevin Kotler's Broadfin Capital, which disclosed ownership of 531,768 shares of the company, worth almost $3.7 million, as of the end of the second quarter of the year.

One stock that rose more than 5 percent during the regular trading session and continued to gain after the bell rang is Gray Television, Inc. GTN, which surged another 5 percent after the market closed.

The rally followed the announcement that the company would acquire all of (privately held) Schurz Communications Inc.’s television and radio stations for $442.5 million.

Anthera Pharmaceuticals Inc ANTH, which fell 1.25 percent during the day, continued to tumble more than 3.6 percent in after-hours trading, after the company announced the termination of a blisibimodpartnership in Japan. Notwithstanding, the partner, Zenyaku, "is required to continue various funding obligations during the termination period."

Finally, there’s Brazil-based Braskem SA (ADR) BAK, which rose 3.7 percent during the day, but fell more than 2 percent after hours, perhaps driven by Brazil macro concerns and the corruption scandal at Petroleo Brasileiro Petrobras SA (ADR) PBR, a company with which Braskem does business.
