Romney Wins Georgia, Gains 16 Electoral Votes

Republican Mitt Romney has been declared the winner in Georgia, gaining 16 electoral votes in the process. As of 7:55 p.m. Eastern time, the count in the electoral college is 49-3 in favor of Romney. President Obama has carried Vermont to this point while Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, has been declared the winner in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina and West Virginia.
