Since Facebook currently is focused on its 500 million and counting user base, it has perhaps been overlooked that Facebook is also hosting one of the largest gaming platforms in the world, according to VentureBeat. “Gaming is very popular on Facebook and important for us,” said Ethan Beard, director of the Facebook Developer Network, in an interview. “Hundreds of millions of our users are playing games. We continue to invest resources in teams and product necessary to make our platform a good one for game developers and gamers.” Facebook's company structure is not organized like those of Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft, even though it may have more gamers that each of those companies. In order to move forward in the right direction, however, Facebook is making plans to hire a 'head of game partnerships', a position that would report directly to Ethan Beard.
