EXCLUSIVE: Cannabis Brand Behind The World's Largest Pot Brownie Launches THC-Infused Hot Cocoa Powder

Did you know there’s National Cocoa Day?

That’s right, Dec. 13th is the day to celebrate these healthy beans, which are the key ingredients of the world's favorite sweet – chocolate. What better way to enjoy the winter than to warm up with a nice big cup of hot cocoa? To make the treat even more fun and enjoyable, MariMed MRMD prepared something special for this year - THC-infused hot cocoa powder

The marijuana company behind the world’s largest cannabis-infused brownie has crafted a Bubby’s Baked Hot Cocoa powder using royal dutch cocoa and custom-formulated full-spectrum cannabis. It comes with 10 servings of either 5mg (Massachusetts, Delaware) or 10mg (Maryland) THC servings easily dosed with a supplied spoon. The powder mixes well with dairy or plant-based milk or even plain water. The suggested retail price is $30.

“Bubby’s Baked is a brand that seeks to recreate and elevate that nostalgic experience of having your first cannabis-infused edible,” Howard Schacter chief communications officer at MariMed told Benzinga. “Our original, soft and chewy confectionary recipes have been a hit, and now we’re adding a decadent hot cocoa, using only high-quality ingredients, including full spectrum cannabis and Royal Dutch cocoa.”

While cocoa is known for many health benefits, such as antioxidant properties that offer neuron protection, and enhances cognition and positive mood, cannabis is still poorly researched, though authoritative new studies confirm various positive impacts of cannabinoids. This makes the hot drink a perfect combo, containing numerous amazing compounds. It will not only warm you up but will make you feel darn good.

The Company Behind The Largest THC-Infused Brownie

MariMed launched Bubby’s Baked cannabis brand in December 2021 with the unveiling of an 850-pound cannabis-infused brownie featuring 20,000 mg of THC. To make the 400-square-foot brownie, the company’s kitchen engineers used 450 pounds of sugar, 212 pounds of butter, and more than 1300 eggs. It was 3 feet wide by 3 feet long and 15 inches tall.

At the time MariMed applied for the Guinness World Record for the largest edible brownie. The organization, however, replied that “Guinness World Records no longer accepts applications or creates new record titles that are related to the consumption, preparation or use of tobacco, cannabis or nicotine products.”

History Of Cocoa

The Mayans are credited with creating the first chocolate beverage around 2000 years ago. Culturally, cocoa became an essential part of the Aztec civilization by 1400 AD.  After the drink found its way from Mexico through the New World, Europeans popularized the chocolate drink. However, it has undergone multiple changes since then. Until the 19th century, drinkers used hot chocolate medicinally to treat ailments such as stomach diseases. And now mixed with cannabis, perhaps the so-called "food of the gods" can provide other wellness benefits.
