More news has come out surrounding the Sarbanes-Oxley ruling earlier today by the Supreme Court, changing previous coverage of the case. It appears that the court only overturned one portion of the law, the way members of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board were appointed.
The ruling leaves intact the majority of the act. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the majority opinion, "The Sarbanes-Oxley Act remains 'fully operative as a law' with these tenure restrictions."
