Humana

In the third quarter of 2014, Humana delivered earnings of $1.85 per share on revenue of $12.238 billion; in the latest quarter, earnings came in at $1.67 per share with revenue at $13.732 billion.

For the third quarter of 2015, management guided for earnings of $2.15 per share, but the Street is modeling EPS of $2.14 on revenue of $13.549 billion.

Meanwhile, the crowd is the most bullish and projects consensus earnings of $2.19 per share on revenue of $13.493 billion.

The second chart above illustrates the evolution of sentiment over time. Both the Street and the crowd have become less constructive on Humana’s earnings as the report date got closer. Expectations now stand at their lowest, although still pretty high.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals

A year ago, Jazz Pharma reported earnings of $2.33 per share on revenue of $306.58 million; last quarter, it retrieved earnings of $2.41 per share on sales of $333.75 million.

For the current quarter, the Street is expecting the mid-cap pharmaceutical company to report earnings of $2.55 per share on revenue of $347.23 million.

Meanwhile, the crowd is modeling consensus earnings of $2.56 per share on revenue of $347.61 million.
