The official Pokémon account announced the delightful news on Twitter, accompanying it with an image of this new and adorable character.

The account also presented Professor Friede, who sports an aviator jacket and pilot googles, along with silver hair.

“We’re giving you a first look at two new characters from the upcoming, all-new Pokémon animated series!,” Nintendo ADR NTDOY's The Pokémon Company wrote on Twitter. “Introducing Friede and his partner Pokémon, Captain Pikachu, who accompany our protagonists during their adventures!”

Moreover, Taito Okiura, The Pokémon Company's vice president of marketing, said in a statement: “For 27 years, Pikachu has been synonymous with the Pokémon franchise, and we look forward to seeing this beloved Pokémon continue to have a significant presence in the animated series and remain an icon for the brand.”

While the new Pokémon series is set to premiere on April 14, 2023, fans can watch Ash and Pikachu’s final adventure in "Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series," available on Netflix Inc NFLX.
